This research trip explored the influence of the past on the contemporary art scene by visiting the cultural centers of Indonesia, where cultural politics and grassroots art community movements intersected, and the capital of Thailand. Concurrently, it deeply compared the differences between these two nations, which were political and cultural rivals after World War II, and participated in a discussion to examine the significance of their respective non-alignment and alignment stances with neighboring countries.
